On the 8th May 2023, we were invited to setup our photoboot at Hutton Rudby Village Fair in North Yorkshire. Hutton Rudby has a village fair every year normally in July. But due to the Coronation of King Charles III it was brought forward to celebrate the coronation and the extra bank holiday.
The village fair stems back to medieval times in general. Where traders would set up a market and there would be entertainment on for the children and adults. A set time for a community to come together. Sadly over the years this has been lost in many villages.
Hutton Rudby has kept this tradition going and given how small this village is it had a terrific turnout. This occasion it was a fantastic affair as even though the weather was wet and miserable, the atmosphere was lively and fun.
Due to the weather we were not able to set up our booth as we could not run an electric supply, so instead we roamed around everything that was going on and got the photos we could showing the various stalls, the games and the Dog competition show which was run by Maxis Mates.
There were many activities including various races. Sack races, skipping race, three legged race, egg and spoon race and others. Even our very own Steampunk-Rex joined in the races and helped encourage the runners. Or maybe he was just hungry :p
The images are available for the people in them and for use by Hutton Rudby Council that arranged the event for advertising for next year.
It was a fun event that we hope to attend again next year :D
