On 6/7th May we were proud to be part of the Steampunk weekend in Bridlington. Organised by WSW Events. The event was held at the Bridlington Spa on the Sea front.
We were working alongside many traders who were all selling fabulous outfits and accessories, scents, props and more. A truly lovely bunch of people to share the event with. We were positioned right next to the Bridlington Lions Stall which was run by a small number of volunteers who were friendly and even brought along their mascot :) The Lion.
The event displayed the coronation as it was happening in the main hall ( without audio due to entertainment ) and fully in the cafe where it was less busy and you could hear it. It was amazing to be able walk around and see everything whilst watching the coronation and seeing the acts on stage.
We met the Raven Morris Dancers in all their finery sharing their dance routines with us. These guys are always amazing to watch and well worth a trip to see. They performed both on stage and on the front promenade. As some photos would show, they tried to teach our mascot Steampunk-rex the clog dance to many laughs and smiles. Due to visibility Issues Rex couldn't see the footsteps so decided to bust his own moves ;) ( Videos to follow ). But as a warning, its a bad idea to wave a giant stick in front of Rex, he will chase it and try to eat it. Which happened while there (sorry people).
We had the pleasure of listening to the anti-poet on stage who sounded fab. Yet another great act again for events and not just limited to steampunk events either.
Some very entertaining music but also some deep lyrics too :)
We had the very talented East Coast Majorettes. A group of young ladies who did some fabulous routines dancing on stage which takes a lot of courage. Not only did they dance on stage, they led the Parade on the Saturday at the end with their pom-poms leading the way.
We had two authors, Kevin M Keld with his book "The Motorcycle Undertaker" which is a great achievement considering he had back in 2020.
Paul Eccentric with his book series called the Periwinkle Perspective. Which is a fun adventure story in the theme of steampunk.
There was a motorcycle display showing various models nice and clean with the local bike club answering questions to do with the bikes.
We got up to our usual mischief getting people to pose and enjoy themselves while showing off their stylish yet regal clothing :)
We met many friends and made some new ones who can join us at future events joining in with us :)
